I began my practice of general dentistry in Carbondale in 1982 after graduation from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St Louis, Missouri.  My undergraduate degree is from San Diego State University.  I served as a dental technician and prosthetic technician while I served 4 yrs in the U.S.Navy. I am a member of American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Southern Illinois Dental Society as well as a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.

About Dr. Pirmann

  I was honored by induction as a fellow into the International College of Dentists in 2006, and into the American College of Dentists in 2007.  I currently serve on the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners.  I grade fourth year dental students in the operative portion of their national licensing examinations.  I spent nine years on the Jackson County Board of Health and continue to be active in the Southern Illinois community. I am married to Becky, have a grown son in Alaska and a daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters in the Little Rock area.
Dr. Pirmann has recently been appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as part of the MEDPREP program. He was appointed on May 16, 2011 and will continue to serve until May 31, 2014.
Established in 1972, the Medical and Dental Education Preparatory Program (MEDPREP) is a division of the Southern Illinois School of Medicine.

Students enter MEDPREP after receiving a bachelor’s degree and prior to entering a healthcare professional program. This program has mentored over 1300 aspiring healthcare professionals by cultivating their potential to excel in professional schools and beyond.
